A visit to Koya-san

Since yesterday, I've been in Osaka. The Neoguri typhoon has, for the moment, prevented me from going to Shikoku. So instead, I'm checking out places of interest in the wider Kansai region. Today I took the train to Koya-san, one of the many sacred mountains of Japan.

Koya-san is special in that it is essentially a high plateau, making it possible for an entire town to thrive up there. But it also sports the Oku-no-in, a sacred Buddhist cemetery. I say no more. The pictures will speak for themselves.
